Psalms 102

Prayer of an Afflicted Man for Mercy on Himself and on Zion.

A Prayer of the Afflicted when he is faint and
Ps 142:2
pours out his complaint before the Lord.

1 bHear my prayer, O Lord!
And let my cry for help ccome to You.
2 dDo not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress;
eIncline Your ear to me;
In the day when I call fanswer me quickly.
3For my days ghave been
Or finished
consumed in smoke,
And my ibones have been scorched like a hearth.
4My heart jhas been smitten like
Lit herbage
grass and has lwithered away,
Indeed, I mforget to eat my bread.
5Because of the
Lit voice
loudness of my groaning
My obones
Lit have cleaved
cling to my flesh.
6I
Lit have become similar to
resemble a rpelican of the wilderness;
I have become like an owl of the waste places.
7I slie awake,
I have become like a lonely bird on a housetop.

8My enemies thave reproached me all day long;
Those who
Or made a fool of
,
vderide me
Lit have sworn by me
have used my name as a xcurse.
9For I have eaten ashes like bread
And ymingled my drink with weeping
10 zBecause of Your indignation and Your wrath,
For You have aalifted me up and cast me away.
11My days are like a
Lit stretched out
,
aclengthened shadow,
And
Or as for me, I
I aewither away like
Lit herbage
grass.

12But You, O Lord,
Or sit enthroned
,
ahabide forever,
And Your
Lit memorial
,
ajname to all generations.
13You will akarise and have alcompassion on Zion;
For amit is time to be gracious to her,
For the anappointed time has come.
14Surely Your servants
Or have found
find pleasure in her stones
And feel pity for her dust.
15
Or And
So the
Or Gentiles, heathen
,
arnations will fear the name of the Lord
And asall the kings of the earth Your glory.
16For the Lord has atbuilt up Zion;
He has auappeared in His glory.
17He has avregarded the prayer of the
Or naked
destitute
And has not despised their prayer.

18
Or Let this be written
This will be aywritten for the azgeneration to come,
Or And
That bba people yet to be created
Or will
may praise
Heb Yah
the Lord.
19For He belooked down from His holy height;
bfFrom heaven the Lord gazed
Lit toward
upon the earth,
20To hear the bhgroaning of the prisoner,
To biset free
Lit the sons of death
those who were doomed to death,
21That men may bktell of the name of the Lord in Zion
And His praise in Jerusalem,
22When blthe peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.

23He has weakened my strength in the way;
He has bmshortened my days.
24I say, “O my God, bndo not take me away in the
Lit half
midst of my days,
Your bpyears are throughout all generations.
25Of old You bqfounded the earth,
And the brheavens are the work of Your hands.
26
Lit They themselves
“Even they will btperish, but You endure;
And all of them will wear out like a garment;
Like clothing You will change them and they will be changed.
27“But You are
Lit He
,
bvthe same,
And Your years will not come to an end.
28“The bwchildren of Your servants will continue,
And their
Lit seed
,
bydescendants will be established before You.”
